“GHD irons are the Ferrari of hairstyling tools”. Here’s why:
Rounder barrel for curls, flicks, waves and straight
Now with universal voltage
Advanced ceramic heaters
New sleep mode
How-to DVD
Reaches operating temperatures in 6 seconds (10 times faster than ordinary irons).
Operate safely at 210 degrees (rather than the 150 degrees of regular irons).
Temperature is controlled by a microprocessor (avoids the average 40% drop and a one-minute delay to regain heat experienced with other hair straighteners).
Ceramic technology, which was pioneered by GHD, causes less heat damage to hair because it creates a negative ion charge which seal in moisture, natural oils and hair colour.
Slim and easy to use (can get very close to the hair root).
For perfect curls, waves or flicks, as well as the perfect straight.
New Sleep Mode
Safely turns the heaters off, if left unattended for 30 minutes.
Now With Universal Voltage
For optimum performance, wherever you travel.
Unique Digital Technology
Improved temperature control for even better styling.
Hologram
You can be confident you have purchased a genuine ghd product.
ON / OFF Button
Conveniently allows you to turn off your hair straightener without unplugging.
Swivel Cord Attachment
Helps stop the cord from becoming twisted.
Floating Plates
Ensures even pressure distribution.
When first witched on, the hairstyling iron’s red indicator light will illuminate constantly until it reaches operating temperature of 210 degrees, this should only take a few seconds. The light will then flash to indicate the iron is at optimum heat and ready to use.
How to turn curly hair straight
Whether your hair is slightly wavy or very curly, follow these instructions to achieve beautifully straight, smooth hair.
Start at the base of the head by taking a fine section of dry hair.
Spray a light mist of a heat protector onto the section and comb through.
Place the GHD Hair Straightener as close to the root as possible and slowly glide down the section without stopping.
Repeat this process with each section of hair gliding once from root to ends.
How to create texture and movement in your hair
Start at the nape of the neck and work with one inch square sections.
Spray a light mist of GHD iron oil onto the section.
Wind the first layer of dry hair around the lower arm of the GHD hair straightener to the mid lengths.
Close over the iron and work out to the ends and then roll the iron back towards the root.
Working with the next layer, alternate the direction of the movement by winding each section in this layer around the upper arm of the styling iron.
Continue this technique alternating direction with each new layer of hair.
Be careful not to wind hair too close to the root throughout the top section.
How to turn straight hair curly
Here’s how you turn straight hair into glossy spiral curls with the GHD Hair Straightener
Starting at the crown, take a small section of dry hair and spray with a light mist of setting spray.
Wind this section around your finger to the ends of the hair. Use the thumb and index finger of your other hand to hold the section in place.
As you ease out your finger feed the section of hair into the iron and hold for 5 to 10 seconds to create glossy, spiral curls.
Repeat this process with other small sections of hair.
For a longer lasting curl secure each section with a hairpin. Once each section is secured take out the pins and release the curl.
How to create flicks, kicks and texture
Starting at the sides, simply take a fine section of hair and glide the GHD Hair Straightener from root to ends.
Spray a light mist of setting spray onto the section.
As you work towards the end lift the hair straightener up and out without stopping to create a contemporary flick.
Repeat in this manner throughout the head.
To give the look an alternative feel, pick sections at random, push upwards and press the iron into the mid lengths.

Important: DO NOT RISK BUYING CHEAPER UK IMPORTED GHD's
There is a big difference between Australian GHD’s and cheaper UK imports. Australian GHD’s are covered for repairs in this country under a 1 year warranty - imports are not!!! Australian GHD’s have our 240 volt plug - imports have non compliant wiring/electronics, therefore have to used with adaptors, and thus don’t meet Australian safety standards. When you spend $300 make sure your GHD is designed for use here in AUSTRALIA !

Love Love Love my GHD

I have had my GHD straightener for about 4 or 5 years now and it is fantastic. It still works as well as it did the day it arrived in the post! Whether I'm using it for curls or dead straight hair, it gives me the best results everyday. Great product.
GHD Straightener

This is a genuine GHD product. I am loving my new straightener. I've used many in my time, but the GHD is fantastic. It takes me half the time to straighten my hair. It is very very hot though and is a little harsh on the hair.
Does everything that you would want!
Reviewer: Candice from Brisbane, QLD, 2008-01-10
This is the best hair straightener i have used. It does everything you want from a hair straightener. It heats up in a few seconds. Glide it down your hair once and it is straight. Leaves your hair soft and shiny. Easy to create flicks!
The best I have come across
Reviewer: Katie from Port Melbourne, VIC, 2007-12-12
This is by far the straightener I have come across. I have been using the GHD for a couple years now and it still works as good as new. The plates are really smooth so it ensures that there is no pulling of the hair at all. The video attached demonstrates how effective the GHD is.
Ceramic plates, heats up quickly, versatile
Reviewer: Andrea from Bondi, NSW, 2007-11-23
I came across the GHD a few years ago through my hairdresser. It was one of the first ceramic plated hair straighteners to hit the professional hair care industry. Amazingly til this day it is still one of the best ceramic plated straighteners, if not the best. It has all the attributes to make it a great straightener: Ceramic, light weight, easy to use, does not pull on hair, gives shine, hair does not frizz, heats up quickly...
On the down side it is very expensive. But then again you get what you pay for.
