Great size - disappointing results

i was thrilled to finally receive my Babyliss mini straightener in the post. after 3 months i am not so thrilled with the result. after having my hair chemically straightened for several years and have just had my hair cut quite short - i found that irons can give me almost the same result but my larger regular sized iron could not grab my shorter hair cut. i bought the mini Babyliss irons as the slim line tongs ensured that i would be able to straighten short hair (even men's short hair) or give me flick curls as required but not in this case.

I have found that the irons do not get hot enough compared to my larger iron to give a smooth finish, i still get frizzy ends and cannot seem to get an even flat finish, the Babyliss iron is spring loaded and remains open at all times, there is no locking device to keep the tongs closed when finished, it does not come with a heat mat or roll or bag to store it in, like many people i do not have the luxury of a large space in my bathroom to store it's original box.

a couple of positive things about the Babyliss - the length of electrical cord is generous allowing distance from water/sinks etc and the slim line is very slim line and weighs almost nothing.. but i want the end result.. i would be reluctant to purchase another slim line straightening iron in the near future.
