Does it straighten the hair?
The treatment is designed to smooth and de-frizz rather than permanently straighten the hair. While curls may appear more relaxed and elongated, your natural texture will return after the first wash. Smoothness and shine, however, will remain. Unlike traditional straightening or perm treatments that rely on harsh chemicals to alter the hair’s disulfide bonds, this treatment works on a different level. It targets weaker, modified bonds using gentler, naturally derived chemistry, allowing hair to become smoother and more manageable without structural damage.
The VeratinTechâ„¢ technology is based on an acidic oxoacetamides synergy combined with keratin amino acids sourced from wheat and soy. This technology helps realign the hair fibre, delivering naturally smooth, shiny results that can last up to three months, without compromising hair health.
Are all your products vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes. ANSWR is PETA certified. All products are free from animal-derived ingredients and are never tested on animals. The brand is committed to cruelty-free practices at every stage of development and only works with suppliers who meet the same standards.
What ingredients are not included in the formulas?
All ANSWR products are free from formaldehyde, sulphates, parabens, silicones, and alcohols.
Are the products safe to use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
Yes. The formulas do not contain ingredients considered unsafe during pregnancy. The active ingredient in the keratin treatment, glyoxylic acid, is safe for use while pregnant or breastfeeding.
How many applications does one bottle provide?
The 100ml spray bottle is suitable for one to two applications, depending on hair length and thickness. It is important to apply a generous amount of product to ensure the hair is fully saturated for best results.
Is it suitable for coloured hair?
Yes, the treatment can be used on coloured hair. However, it does not repair bonds damaged by bleaching. When using heat, some colour fading may occur, particularly with semi-permanent dyes. To minimise this, test a small section first and allow it to cool before continuing. If fading is noticed, reduce the iron temperature and retest until no colour loss occurs.
Can it be used on dry or damaged hair?
The treatment can help smooth and align dry, porous, or bleached hair, but it will not repair damage caused by previous chemical services or bleaching. The formula itself does not damage the hair, however hair that is already fragile may feel dry after treatment due to the heat-sealing process. If the ends are very compromised, avoid excessive heat on those areas when sealing the treatment.
