Home Styling Root Lift

"The ONLY product Ive ever found to give my fine coloured treated short hair heaps and heaps of volume. Ive been using it for years regardless of the price as it really works. The shampoo is great too but really you only need the spray. Ive tried hundreds of other products that are absolutely useless in comparison to this spray. I have a product graveyard in my bathroom :(
I spray it all over my hair I dont concentrate on the roots as it gives all over volume which is what I want. Im so excited that I can finally buy it from MyHaircare!" - Laura

Benefits

Adds volume

Description

Davines Volu Hair Mist is a lightweight volume spray that lifts fine hair effortlessly.

This mist is designed to give roots a gentle boost while keeping lengths soft and movable. It works by coating each strand with a light, flexible film that adds body without weighing hair down.

The texture feels like a delicate water spray, never sticky or stiff. It has a clean, slightly floral scent that leaves hair smelling fresh but not overpowering.

Perfect for fine or limp hair, it’s ideal before blow-drying or air-drying on busy mornings. Your hair feels fuller, bouncier, and easier to style.

With regular use, your everyday blow-dry looks more polished, with natural-looking lift that lasts through the day.

Directions

How To Use Davines Volu Hair Mist

Spray onto towel-dried hair, focusing on roots and mid-lengths.
Comb through to distribute evenly.
Blow-dry for maximum volume and lift.
For softer volume, allow hair to air-dry naturally.
Do not rinse; style as desired.

VP/VA Copolymer Thickeners and stabilisers

Film-forming styling polymer

A film-forming polymer that helps provide hold, texture and style retention.

May suit
People looking for longer-lasting hold or improved definition in styling products.

Worth knowing
It is widely used in gels, mousses and sprays because it creates flexible, brushable hold. It can also help reduce frizz by forming a lightweight coating on the hair.
Phenoxyethanol Preservatives

Preservative

Helps keep the product stable and pleasant to use after opening.

May suit
All products that need protecting from spoilage.

Worth knowing
A very common, well-studied preservative used at low levels.
Benzyl Alcohol Preservatives

Preservative

Helps preserve formulations and can also act as a solvent or light fragrance component.

May suit
Those interested in understanding preservative systems or identifying potential fragrance allergens.

Worth knowing
Benzyl Alcohol is commonly used in professional haircare to support product stability and texture. It can also naturally occur in some essential oils.
Polyquaternium-16 Conditioning agents

Conditioning polymer

A conditioning polymer that helps smooth and soften the hair.

May suit
Those looking for improved slip, reduced static and easier detangling.

Worth knowing
It forms a lightweight film on the hair to enhance manageability and shine. It is commonly used in both rinse-off and leave-in formulas.
PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil Cleansers / surfactants

Solubiliser and emulsifier

Helps blend oils and fragrance into water-based formulas for even texture and performance.

May suit
Useful for those who prefer haircare products with clear, consistent textures or evenly dispersed fragrance and oils.

Worth knowing
It is widely used in shampoos, conditioners and styling products to keep formulations stable and smooth. It also offers mild surfactant properties that support product rinse-off.
Hydroxyethylcellulose Thickeners and stabilisers

Thickener and stabiliser

A polymer that helps thicken and stabilise haircare formulas.

May suit
Those who prefer products with a smooth, uniform texture or need easier application and distribution.

Worth knowing
It is derived from cellulose and is widely used because it provides viscosity without weighing hair down. It also helps improve the feel and spreadability of many water-based products.
Benzyl Salicylate Fragrance ingredients

Fragrance component

Benzyl Salicylate is a fragrance ingredient used to add a sweet, floral aroma to haircare products.

May suit
Those who enjoy subtly floral-scented haircare or are monitoring specific fragrance allergens.

Worth knowing
It is one of the fragrance allergens that must be listed individually on product labels when present above certain levels. Its presence does not indicate product strength or quality, only that it contributes to the overall scent profile.
Disodium EDTA Chelating agents

Chelating agent

Binds to minerals from hard water so the product works consistently and stays stable.

May suit
All products, especially in hard-water areas.

Worth knowing
Used in tiny amounts to keep formulas performing reliably.
Panthenol Conditioning agents

Conditioning agent

Helps condition, soften and add a smooth, healthy feel to the hair.

May suit
Most hair types, especially dry or dull hair.

Worth knowing
A versatile, well-tolerated conditioning ingredient.
Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate UV filters

UV filter

A UV-absorbing ingredient that helps protect hair and colour from sun-related fading.

May suit
Those who spend time outdoors or want to help maintain colour-treated hair.

Worth knowing
It is widely used in suncare and some hair products to support protection against UV exposure. In haircare, it mainly helps reduce colour fade rather than providing full sunscreen performance.
Ethylhexylglycerin Preservatives

Preservative booster

Helps support the preservation system and can provide mild skin-conditioning benefits.

May suit
Those interested in gentle preservation systems or sensitive scalps may find it relevant.

Worth knowing
It is often paired with other preservatives to improve their effectiveness while allowing for lower usage levels. It also has light moisturising and conditioning properties.
Benzophenone-4 UV filters

UV filter

Helps absorb UV light and protect product formulas and hair colour from UV-related degradation.

May suit
People looking to maintain colour-treated hair or reduce UV impact on hair and scalp.

Worth knowing
It is often used to help stabilise formulas that may be exposed to sunlight. Its presence can support the longevity of colour care products.
Limonene Fragrance ingredients

Fragrance component

A fragrance component that also occurs naturally in many citrus and plant oils.

Worth knowing
A fragrance component that must be listed separately on labels because a minority of people can be sensitive to it. Its presence is normal, required disclosure and is not a quality signal.
Linalool Fragrance ingredients

Fragrance component

A fragrance component found naturally in many flowers and spices.

Worth knowing
A fragrance component that must be listed separately on labels because a minority of people can be sensitive to it. Its presence is normal, required disclosure and is not a quality signal.
Citral Fragrance ingredients

Fragrance component

Citral is a fragrance ingredient used to provide a fresh, citrus-like scent.

May suit
Those who enjoy citrus-style fragrances or want products with a fresh aromatic profile.

Worth knowing
Citral is naturally present in several essential oils and is listed on labels because it is a recognised fragrance allergen. Only small amounts are typically used to adjust or enhance a product’s scent.
Cocamidopropyl Betaine Cleansers / surfactants

Cleanser / foam booster

A milder co-surfactant that helps cleanse, boost foam and soften the feel of stronger cleansers.

May suit
Most hair types, including those wanting a gentler wash.

Worth knowing
Often paired with other surfactants to make a formula feel milder.
Sucrose Humectants

Humectant

Sucrose helps attract and retain moisture in hair and scalp.

May suit
Those looking for added hydration or gentle sugar-based exfoliation in scalp treatments.

Worth knowing
In some formulas, sucrose can also provide mild texture enhancement or a soft, polishing effect in scrubs.
Hydrolysed Sweet Almond Protein Proteins and amino acids

Hair-conditioning protein

A plant-derived protein that helps condition and strengthen the hair surface.

May suit
People looking to improve softness, manageability or the feel of damaged or dry hair.

Worth knowing
Hydrolysed proteins are broken into smaller fragments so they can better adhere to the hair shaft. They are commonly used to support smoother texture and maintain moisture balance.
Sodium Benzoate Preservatives

Preservative

Helps protect water-based products from spoilage so they stay usable.

May suit
All products that need a preservative system.

Worth knowing
Often paired with other preservatives for broad protection.
