Good to knowChemically, the palmitoyl (fatty) portion helps the peptide penetrate or associate with skin and hair surfaces. In skin science it has been shown to influence collagen and extracellular matrix-related pathways; in haircare it is used to support tensile strength and surface smoothness. Formulators add it for anti‑ageing and conditioning claims; stability and performance depend on formulation pH and preservative system.

Good to knowThe palmitoyl group increases lipophilicity and helps the tripeptide reach the surface of the skin and hair shaft. It is often formulated alongside other peptides (for example palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7) and conditioning agents. Used at low percentages, it is generally well tolerated and non-volatile; it is not a declared fragrance allergen.
