Benefits

Tames frizz Low to medium shine

Description

Davines More Inside This is an Oil Non Oil is a lightweight styling fluid for soft, natural-looking hold.

This clever formula works like a gentle styling gel and a smoothing serum in one, helping to define hair while keeping it flexible and touchable. It tames frizz, adds light shine, and gives subtle control without stiffness or greasiness.

The texture feels like a silky lotion that glides through damp hair and dries to a clean, invisible finish. Hair feels smooth, airy, and easy to restyle, with a delicate salon-like scent.

Ideal for fine to medium hair, or anyone who wants control without a heavy product feel. Use it on towel-dried hair for everyday styling, soft waves, or a polished, undone look that still moves.

Use a little more on frizz-prone areas if needed.

Polysorbate 20 Thickeners and stabilisers

Solubiliser / emulsifier

Helps blend oil‑based ingredients into water‑based formulas for a smooth, even texture.

May suit
Those using products with essential oils or fragranced blends, as it helps disperse these evenly.

Worth knowing
It is widely used as a gentle solubiliser in both leave‑in and rinse‑off products. Its presence can improve product consistency and prevent ingredient separation.
PVP Thickeners and stabilisers

Film-forming polymer

PVP is a film-forming ingredient that helps provide hold and structure in styling products.

May suit
Anyone looking for longer-lasting hold, enhanced definition or improved style memory.

Worth knowing
It is widely used in gels, mousses and sprays because it creates a flexible film on the hair shaft. Its performance can vary with humidity, so it is often blended with other polymers for stability.
PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil Cleansers / surfactants

Solubiliser and emulsifier

Helps blend oils and fragrance into water-based formulas for even texture and performance.

May suit
Useful for those who prefer haircare products with clear, consistent textures or evenly dispersed fragrance and oils.

Worth knowing
It is widely used in shampoos, conditioners and styling products to keep formulations stable and smooth. It also offers mild surfactant properties that support product rinse-off.
Phenoxyethanol Preservatives

Preservative

Helps keep the product stable and pleasant to use after opening.

May suit
All products that need protecting from spoilage.

Worth knowing
A very common, well-studied preservative used at low levels.
Carbomer Thickeners and stabilisers

Thickener and stabiliser

Carbomer helps thicken and stabilise gels, creams and styling formulas.

May suit
Anyone who prefers smooth, consistent textures in styling or leave-in products.

Worth knowing
It helps formulas stay evenly mixed and glide easily through the hair or onto the scalp. It is widely used because it works in very small amounts and provides reliable texture.
Disodium EDTA Chelating agents

Chelating agent

Binds to minerals from hard water so the product works consistently and stays stable.

May suit
All products, especially in hard-water areas.

Worth knowing
Used in tiny amounts to keep formulas performing reliably.
Ethylhexylglycerin Preservatives

Preservative booster

Helps support the preservation system and can provide mild skin-conditioning benefits.

May suit
Those interested in gentle preservation systems or sensitive scalps may find it relevant.

Worth knowing
It is often paired with other preservatives to improve their effectiveness while allowing for lower usage levels. It also has light moisturising and conditioning properties.
Sodium Hydroxide pH adjusters

pH adjuster

Helps control and stabilise the pH of haircare formulations.

May suit
Those interested in how product pH affects scalp comfort or hair cuticle behaviour.

Worth knowing
It is used in very small amounts to bring a formula to the desired pH range. Once adjusted, it does not act as a strong alkaline agent in the finished product.
Limonene Fragrance ingredients

Fragrance component

A fragrance component that also occurs naturally in many citrus and plant oils.

Worth knowing
A fragrance component that must be listed separately on labels because a minority of people can be sensitive to it. Its presence is normal, required disclosure and is not a quality signal.
Linalool Fragrance ingredients

Fragrance component

A fragrance component found naturally in many flowers and spices.

Worth knowing
A fragrance component that must be listed separately on labels because a minority of people can be sensitive to it. Its presence is normal, required disclosure and is not a quality signal.
Citral Fragrance ingredients

Fragrance component

Citral is a fragrance ingredient used to provide a fresh, citrus-like scent.

May suit
Those who enjoy citrus-style fragrances or want products with a fresh aromatic profile.

Worth knowing
Citral is naturally present in several essential oils and is listed on labels because it is a recognised fragrance allergen. Only small amounts are typically used to adjust or enhance a product’s scent.
Citronellol Fragrance ingredients

Fragrance component

A fragrance component with a soft floral, rose-like character.

Worth knowing
A fragrance component that must be listed separately on labels because a minority of people can be sensitive to it. Its presence is normal, required disclosure and is not a quality signal.
Geraniol Fragrance ingredients

Fragrance component

Geraniol is a fragrant compound that adds a light floral note to haircare products.

May suit
Those who enjoy floral-scented hair products or are checking for specific fragrance components.

Worth knowing
It is naturally found in essential oils such as rose and geranium and is commonly used to enhance scent profiles. It must be listed on labels when present above certain trace levels.
