Description

Davines Naturaltech Elevating Clay Supercleanser is a purifying scalp wash that leaves roots light and fresh.

This gentle clay-based cleanser works like a detox for your scalp, lifting away excess oil, product build-up, and impurities without stripping. As you massage it in, the creamy clay texture feels soft yet deeply cleansing, rinsing out to leave hair airy and clean at the roots.

It’s ideal for oily or congested scalps, those who use lots of styling products, or anyone wanting a weekly reset. Use it instead of your usual shampoo when your hair feels heavy or dull.

After washing, your scalp feels refreshed and breathing again, while lengths stay soft and manageable, ready for your favourite conditioner or mask.

Follow with conditioner or mask on mid-lengths and ends.

Kaolin Thickeners and stabilisers

May suit
Those with oily scalps or those using styling products that benefit from a matte, volumising effect.

Worth knowing
Kaolin is a naturally occurring clay that can help improve product texture while offering mild cleansing without stripping. It is commonly used in scalp treatments, masks and texturising products.
Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate Cleansers / surfactants

Gentle cleansing surfactant

A mild, sulphate-free surfactant that helps cleanse hair and scalp while creating a soft, creamy lather.

May suit
People looking for a gentle, low-irritation cleansing option or those using sulphate-free shampoos.

Worth knowing
It is known for being milder than many traditional surfactants and is often used in formulas designed to maintain softness after washing.
Cocamidopropyl Betaine Cleansers / surfactants

Cleanser / foam booster

A milder co-surfactant that helps cleanse, boost foam and soften the feel of stronger cleansers.

May suit
Most hair types, including those wanting a gentler wash.

Worth knowing
Often paired with other surfactants to make a formula feel milder.
Glycerin Humectants

Humectant

Attracts and holds water to help hair feel hydrated and soft.

May suit
Dry or dehydrated hair, and many curl and moisture routines.

Worth knowing
A very common, well-tolerated humectant used across countless products.
Sodium Methyl Oleoyl Taurate Cleansers / surfactants

Mild surfactant

A gentle, lathering surfactant that helps cleanse the hair and scalp.

May suit

Worth knowing

Sodium Chloride Thickeners and stabilisers

Viscosity adjuster

Sodium Chloride is used to adjust the thickness of shampoos and other cleansing formulas.

May suit
Those interested in how a product’s texture and lather are achieved.

Worth knowing

Menthol Anti-dandruff / scalp care

Cooling and soothing agent

Provides a cooling sensation and helps refresh the scalp.

May suit
People who enjoy a cooling effect or want products that help soothe a tired or congested scalp.
