Why you’ll love it

Turn flat, floppy roots into airy, long-lasting lift in seconds.
Gives fine hair a thicker, fuller feel without heavy residue.
Soft, powdery grip for easy styling and natural-looking texture.
Perfect for everyday volume, from subtle boost to big, bold lift.

Benefits

Adds volume Adds texture

Description

KMS Add Volume Liquid Dust is a lightweight styling lotion that transforms into a powdery, root-lifting boost.

This clever formula builds touchable volume from the roots while keeping hair flexible, not stiff. It works like a liquid when you apply it, then dries down to give the airy grip of a powder.

Hair feels thicker, fuller, and easier to style, with a natural-looking matte finish. The texture is soft yet grippy, so styles hold without crunch or stickiness.

Perfect for fine to normal hair that falls flat, and for anyone who wants extra lift on styling days. Use it on towel-dried hair before blow-drying, or on dry hair for instant refresh and body.

Directions

How To Use KMS Add Volume Liquid Dust

Shake well before use.
Apply a small amount to towel-dried hair, focusing on roots.
Blow-dry while lifting hair at the roots for maximum volume.
For extra texture, scrunch a little into dry hair and restyle.
Start with less product and build up if needed.

May suit
All hair and skin types.

Worth knowing
Almost always the first ingredient listed in water-based products.
Silica Silylate Thickeners and stabilisers

Texture and stabilising agent

Helps thicken formulas and improve grip or texture in styling products.

May suit
People who like matte, volumising or texturising finishes in hair styling.

Worth knowing
It is a treated form of silica that enhances spreadability and helps products stay uniform. Commonly used in dry shampoos, pastes and sprays for added hold.
Propanediol Humectants

Hydrating humectant

Helps attract and hold moisture in hair and supports a smooth, conditioned feel.

May suit
Those wanting lightweight hydration without heaviness.

Worth knowing
It is often used as a gentle alternative to glycol-based humectants and can also help improve product texture and absorption.
VP/VA Copolymer Thickeners and stabilisers

Film-forming styling polymer

A film-forming polymer that helps provide hold, texture and style retention.

May suit
People looking for longer-lasting hold or improved definition in styling products.

Worth knowing
It is widely used in gels, mousses and sprays because it creates flexible, brushable hold. It can also help reduce frizz by forming a lightweight coating on the hair.
Acrylates/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Copolymer Thickeners and stabilisers

Film-forming polymer

A styling polymer that forms a light film on the hair to help provide hold, texture and formulation stability.

May suit
People looking for gentle hold, frizz control or improved styling performance.

Worth knowing
This type of copolymer is commonly used in gels, creams and sprays to enhance product stability and hair feel. It is valued for creating flexible rather than stiff hold.
Polyquaternium-16 Conditioning agents

Conditioning polymer

A conditioning polymer that helps smooth and soften the hair.

May suit
Those looking for improved slip, reduced static and easier detangling.

Worth knowing
It forms a lightweight film on the hair to enhance manageability and shine. It is commonly used in both rinse-off and leave-in formulas.
PEG/PPG-17/18 Dimethicone Silicones

Lightweight silicone conditioning agent

A water-dispersible silicone that helps smooth and condition hair without heavy build-up.

May suit

Worth knowing
Its PEG/PPG modification allows it to rinse more easily than traditional non‑water‑soluble silicones. It is commonly used to improve the spreadability and feel of conditioners and styling products.
Magnesium Sulfate Thickeners and stabilisers

Texturising agent

Helps add texture and enhance curl formation by temporarily increasing hair rigidity.

May suit
People looking for added volume, beachy texture or stronger curl definition.

Worth knowing
It is a simple mineral salt often used in styling sprays to create a firmer, more textured feel. Usage levels vary depending on how much definition or hold is desired.
PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil Cleansers / surfactants

Worth knowing
It is widely used in shampoos, conditioners and styling products to keep formulations stable and smooth. It also offers mild surfactant properties that support product rinse-off.
Isopropyl Alcohol Solvents

Solvent

Helps dissolve ingredients and supports quick-drying formulas.

May suit
Those using styling products that benefit from fast evaporation, such as sprays.

Worth knowing
It is commonly used at low levels to improve texture and spreadability. It evaporates quickly, leaving minimal residue on the hair.
