Benefits

Adds volume

Description

Fat Muk Volumiser is a remarkably lightweight formula designed to provide root lift, shine, body, and volume to your hair. This special blend of vitamins and proteins is intended to expand and nourish the hair, even if it's chemically damaged or delicate. The product also serves as a directional styling spray for root lift, texture, and control, offering shine without stiffness.

This weightless volumising spray delivers added volume and shine, while simultaneously thickening and strengthening the hair. It expands the hair shaft, creating impressive body for fine, limp hair. With a directional nozzle, you have the choice of using it as an all-over volumiser or specifically to create root lift.

Fat Muk Volumiser is ideal for fine hair textures and aims to provide volume, hydration, shine, and thermal protection solutions.

Copolymer Thickeners and stabilisers

Film-forming polymer

A versatile polymer that helps provide hold, texture and stability in hair products.

May suit
Those looking for improved styling performance, frizz control or longer-lasting hold.

Worth knowing
Copolymers are commonly used in styling formulas to create flexible films on the hair without stiffness. Different copolymer blends can influence how strong, soft or humidity-resistant the hold feels.
PVP Thickeners and stabilisers

Film-forming polymer

PVP is a film-forming ingredient that helps provide hold and structure in styling products.

May suit
Anyone looking for longer-lasting hold, enhanced definition or improved style memory.

Worth knowing
It is widely used in gels, mousses and sprays because it creates a flexible film on the hair shaft. Its performance can vary with humidity, so it is often blended with other polymers for stability.
Cocamidopropyl Betaine Cleansers / surfactants

Cleanser / foam booster

A milder co-surfactant that helps cleanse, boost foam and soften the feel of stronger cleansers.

May suit
Most hair types, including those wanting a gentler wash.

Worth knowing
Often paired with other surfactants to make a formula feel milder.
Cocamide DEA Cleansers / surfactants

Foaming and cleansing surfactant

Cocamide DEA helps boost foam and enhance the cleansing performance of shampoos and other lathering products.

May suit
Those who prefer richer lather or products that cleanse efficiently.

Worth knowing
It is often used in small amounts to improve texture, foam and viscosity in cleansing formulas. Its use is regulated in many regions to ensure products meet safety standards.
Propylene Glycol Humectants

Humectant

Helps hold moisture and carry other ingredients through the formula.

May suit
Most hair types as part of a moisturising formula.

Worth knowing
A widely used humectant and carrier ingredient.
Hydrogenated Castor Oil Oils and butters

Emollient and texture enhancer

Helps condition the hair and improve the texture and stability of a formula.

May suit
Those seeking smoother-feeling hair or richer, more conditioning textures.

Worth knowing
It is a solid, stabilised form of castor oil that offers slip and softness without feeling greasy. It is commonly used in both styling products and conditioners.
Panthenol Conditioning agents

Conditioning agent

Helps condition, soften and add a smooth, healthy feel to the hair.

May suit
Most hair types, especially dry or dull hair.

Worth knowing
A versatile, well-tolerated conditioning ingredient.
DMDM Hydantoin Preservatives

Preservative

Helps preserve haircare formulas by preventing microbial growth.

May suit
Those wanting products that stay fresh and stable over time.

Worth knowing
It works by slowly releasing small amounts of formaldehyde to keep products shelf‑stable, a method widely used in cosmetic preservation. Some people with sensitivities to formaldehyde-releasing preservatives may prefer to check product labels.
Methylparaben Preservatives

Preservative

Helps protect haircare products by preventing microbial spoilage.

May suit
Anyone who wants products to stay fresh and stable over time.

Worth knowing
Parabens like methylparaben are widely used because they are effective in very small amounts and have a long history of use in cosmetics. They help maintain product quality, especially in water-based formulas.
Disodium EDTA Chelating agents

Chelating agent

Binds to minerals from hard water so the product works consistently and stays stable.

May suit
All products, especially in hard-water areas.

Worth knowing
Used in tiny amounts to keep formulas performing reliably.
